A W. C. Scott 10 bore that I found on the web. Chromed and speckle painted stock.

You could walk into a juke joint down here late on a Sattidy night with that, and bring peace out of confusion.

Reminds me of a story. It was 1967 and I was in USMC bootcamp and every Sunday there were a few hours of time for yourself. You needed it to polish boots, shoes, brass or write a letter. Anyway one of the recruits, who wasn't the sharpest tack in the box, is busy using steel wool to remove every bit of blue from his M-14. By the time I noticed it he was maybe 90% done and a fine job it was. Maybe 15 minutes later a drill instructor walks through the area and takes our bright young fellow down to the drill instructors hut. This was a place you definitely did not want to go because you rarely saw a fellow return from their hut. They just disappeared.

Another piece of history ruined. How sad. Seems to me like I remember seeing a chrome-plated Francotte somewhere this past week.... maybe the folks who did this to these two shotguns are related.

About a year or so ago, there was an article in one of the British sporting mags - either "The Field" or "Shooting Gazette" which featured a Purdey with gold plated barrels and Swarovski crystals covering the action. If you're going to being that gun to a shoot, you better shoot it REALLY well.

MCRD San Diego 1960-- the only one of the "TURDS" in our platoon that went to the DI's hut and returned were called "The House Mouse(s)" DI's were swift enough to say mice, and of course, the old "F" modifier was heard loud, clear and frequently. We loved to attend ol Chaplain Charlie's Sunday "Magic show" because it was the only hour of the whole freakin' week (19 weeks Boot back then)the D.I.'s couldn't mess with us--I love music, used to whistle back in HS a bit- second Sunday of Boot- head calls- standin' extra close to the razor- not a "Smokey bear cover" in sight- I started to whistle- the really "bad cop" D.I. snuck up behind and screamed into my right ear-- "Only two things whistle in my Corps- *&^%bird- queers and swabbies- which the &^%$ one are you, sweetheart?" I haven't whistled since, and don't hear so well out of that ear- 51 years later- Lock and Load!!!
