I stripped down an old Ithaca NID that I picked up recently for a complete cleaning. I took photos as I disassembled it to make sure I could put it back together again. The only problem I have is that the lever will not stay to the right when opened. What did I do wrong?

Thanks in advance for your help.

there is a U shaped piece that holds the locking bolt (lever) open there is a small coil spring that goes between the trigger plate and the U shaped piece you might have left one of those out.mc

The little coil spring fits into a recess on the floor plate; the other end on the u-shaped rod. Have to put the floor plate back on carefully making sure the spring stays in place.

mc & 2holer:

That was it! I had the spring under the u-rod. I need to look at my photos a little closer.

Thank you for your help.
