Patrick,

1964 was the original purchase date for the gun I mentioned. Of the records I have collect so far, that's the only original purchase date. Everyone else was a s/h purchaser.

When you input your data, there is a bought new/used option. Just choose 'used'.

I have a Model 500 20b and it gets a lot of very positive comments from other shooters. I find it hard to miss with it (and, believe me, I need a gun like that!) .

Nigel,

Is your miroku a SxS or O/U? What's your interest in Mirokus and the motivation behind your serial # project?

Patrick

Patrick--It covers a lot of the foreign firearms available at that time. It includes the Winchester 101 as well as Miroku (OU as well as sxs), but does not include SKB--although at that time, Ithaca hadn't yet begun importing those guns. I'd be happy to copy the pages and mail them to you if you PM me your address. I refer to Buxton's fairly frequently. Don't know how easy it is to find a copy these days or how much one would cost, but I find it to be a handy reference for post-WWII foreign guns.

Adam,

Nice looking gun ;-)

If you can find a better gun than a Miroku (at the same price)... buy it !!!

I love the 550 .... First one I've ever seen !!!

Nigel,

You have a gun with serial # 192753 dated 1964.
My serial # is 165528 - 27,225 numbers earlier.
Does anyone have and idea of the manufacture date of 165528?
I would guess the 50's if not earlier - any thoughts on this?

Sincerely,
Patrick
