Beretta Paralleli Societ

Theres a sizeable, loyal following for Beretta Side-by-Sides; while theyre not Purdeys, Bosis, nor McKay Browns, theyre the favorite bird and/or clays gun for many shooters and theyve developed a reputation for almost flawless performance. But across the 20th Century there were many different models under a variety of different names in various countries, and sometimes factual information about these guns can be elusive.

But...no one knows the facts better than we do collectively. So, theres some thought about forming a loose users group to electronically share information and war stories either in email or internet forums. There isnt any cost or dues involved, unless the group decides at some later date to spend money on something.

The email youre reading is the proverbial finger stuck up in the wind; if we get a critical mass of interest, well move forward in some fashion. If youre interested, please send us some information...and also cut/paste/forward this email to other folks you know who are Beretta fans. Please send:

Jim,
There was a Gus Bode at Southern Illinois University. Gus was very well known throughout the university. Would you be related?

I've only owned one Beretta SXS (471) but I've always been interested by the numerous models offered. You may want to try contacting Ken Pendleton. He's a dealer that "specializes" in older, lesser known Berettas.

His inventory is listed online. http://www.gunsinternational.com/Pendleton-Firearms-guns-for-sale.cfm?show_account_listings=3770

Good luck!

Ron's in and Ken has been notified and his input is always appreciated. Jim's idea may be the start of a new adventure. It seems we may be a small group but we arealways full of questions.

Why limit to just sxs? As this gets going you may want to include the older ASEs (50s to 60s) and older SOs.

Hi Ken & thanks for your question. I'll have to admit to owning a couple of those ugly stackbarrel guns myself - though mine aren't SOs. We certainly won't outlaw info/discussion on those fine Berettas...but there's been SO little ink & attention focused on their fabulous SxS guns, we wanted to shine a little light in that direction...please join us!!!

Jim,
I'm in for the duration. I have Beretta guns and have shot them for years. I think it's time we got organized. Bob
