Hello all, been gone a long time but now I am back looking for answers as usual.
Purchased a gun at a local swap meet and it dosen't fit into the serial numbers listed on the site. Either that or I am blind and can't figure it out. OK here goes.
Serial #147XXX yes it is 6 digits.
Damascus barrels
Star engraving on ends of barrel pivot W/3 point flowers in between each star point.
Duck on one side, Woodcock on other, Prairie Chicken ? on bottom w/tufts coming out of chest.
Scroll work around bottom animal. Scroll work around all screws, triangles on balls, scroll work behind pivit pin, scroll work on triger guard, engraved serial # between screws on tang, zigzag on end of barrels where it locks w/balls.
Engraving on top lever and all screws.
Ithaca Gun Co. engraved above both animals on sides.
3 position safety.
28" barrels.
Ebony tipped forearm.
Butt plate has Ithica gun co in circle around flying duck.
All parts marked w/2 except barrels.
Extractor gun

If it is marked Ithica, can't help, but if marked Ithaca, Its a Lewis model quality 2. If you are willing to post the entire sn, I may be able to date it for you.

Sounds like you have a Minier Model, Quality 2. Made from 1906-08. Description more or less fits the photos in Walt Snyder's Ithaca book. He'll probably be along eventually to confirm. Not a lot of Miniers made, compared to other models.

Larry is correct, a Minier model. I have been shooting trap and skeet all morning and I think the 105 heat fried my brain a bit.

Are the miner models the ones with the funny serial numbers, like that they were out of order or something?
