Hi Whitey: I have an extra set of R2 dies by C&H. I will look for them and send a pic. Also might have some extra brass (new old stock)

A couple words about the Lovells. I've owned around four of them over the years and they are very hard on brass. Most of the stuff is old and brittle.

Jamison Brass went out of business but I understand that they are now http://www.captechintl.com/products.html.

I don't know about their .25-20 brass but I bought some .25-25 basic back when they were Jamison and they need to be annealed for the top 2/3 or more. I mean a hot with a torch until red kind. Normally I anneal brass with a candle or alcohol lamp. It's very brittle and will crack the first time you run it into the die if you don't.

My friend John who has a rifle like yours loaded some ammo with brand-new never fired Peters brass and they were separating on the first shot. I was shooting with him at time, so shot one in my G&H, the case separated and I got a face full of hot gas and particles.

Wear your shooting glasses.

Michael, those cases sure look like straight 22-3000 loads. My R2's have sharp shoulders....what's up?

Nothing up..they are .22-3000 the last two rifles I have are .22-3000. The other two were R2 and Maximum. All seem to suffer the same problem with the older brass.

May I ask what bullet you're using? I have a thought for you on the cases, possible case life improvement.
