Hi Folks,

Long time no post. I went a bit quiet on here after Tony passed away, does anyone know how his family are getting on?

Anyway, I have my eye on a pope underlever 12 gauge shotgun with hammers. I was quite taken by it, and would like to shoot it on SXS days at sporting and maybe take it for a walk on a foggy winter morning to relive its past (like all my other old doubles) - all with very conservative loads of course! It looks to be in Good condition for its age, the ask is $700 $AUS I have done a search on here that didnt turn up anything, and I have searched on line to no avail. You guys seem to know all the makers, can anyone shed some light.?

In the few references I have there is only William Pope in Stepney London in 1839. That of course is 50+ years too early.
If the name was "Pape" that would be a whole different game.

There is a post from (or on behalf of) Tony's widow on another thread somewhere recently if you do a search.

Joe - I probably will.!

300846 - thanks for that it will be easier to work out its heritage once I have it I guess.

I will search again for the thread you refer to.

Roy
