The Cabela's in Fort Worth recommended the following shop for my Westley Richards: Andrew MacFarlane ADM Gun & Rifle Makers 500 N Kimball Ave, #109 Southlake, Texas 76092 (817) 442-4861 ADMGUN@GMAIL.COM www.admgun.comThey have my gun now, but I can't tell you anything from personal experience - just that the folks who run the gun room at Cabelas thinks well of him. It's about 45 minutes from Dallas.
Sincerely, Patrick

My WR 12ga is ser#'d on the forend wood. Stamped in the left bbl inlet, reading from breech to muzzle.
The guns ser# on the trigger guard has a T prefix. If I put that into the WR historical look-em-up, it shows made in 1915. W/O the prefix, it shows mfg'r in 1889. The frame, bbls and any other ser#'d part other than the trigger guard show only the 4 digit serial number,,no prefix.
So I don't know when it was made,,but it shows that at least in this case they stamped the number into the wood on the forend, and where & when..

T-11335) and I would be very interested to see any photos you have. Photos of my T-series are at: http://wp.me/p2z8Ty-5bThanks,Nigel

Nigel, Kutter,
The T should be included in the serial number. A member of our gun club has a Westley Richards with a T #. The same thing as your experience, Kutter, happens when put into the WR website - with the T it's a 1915 gun, w/o an 1890 gun. The 1915 looks more accurate, with the gun and its style and condition. Then, when we got the ledger copy for the gun from the WR company (using the T serial #), it matched the other characteristics of the gun (bore, lenth, style, etc), including the buyer, which was located in Japan (the gun was purchased in Japan by the curent owner). If I remember correctly, the T was on the action and the barrels, but not the fore end.
Sincerely, Patrick
