Hello all,

I recently read that Holland and Holland offered rifled barrels for the Spencer slide action shotgun. They offered it in their 1887 catalogue. I know that there were as many as two Paradox barrels made for these Spencers, but I was wondering if anyone knows of any fully rifled barrels made like Holland actually advertised? Would definitely make for an interesting gun.

I don't know if Holland made any barrels for the Spencer but there was a pump shotgun with a paradox barrel at a fairly recent auction in CA. I can't remember the date or whether it was Greg Martin or Bonhams but it was within the last two years. By the time I heard about it the auction was over.

There were two paradox barrels made for a "De Panw" in 1894 by Holland, so the barrel at auction was pobably one of them. There is only one barrel that has surfaced, supposedly, and it is barrel no.15184. In the Paradox book they say that the gentleman who ordered them likely got the idea from the rifled Spencers with an extra barrel for shot offered by Holland in their 1887 catalog.
