I had been using a 16 ga Stirlingworth and alternating it with a JP Sauer 16ga hammer Gun on wild birds. Its 30 inch barrels were light to carry but the stock just did not work for me. I picked up another one with 30 inch barrels and ejectors but this one had an even worse stock So the project is started. Ejector Gun off to Gunter Pfrommer for a full on upgrade high grade wood straight stocked to my dimensions and engraving like a CE grade. It will be my grouse getter. If I live long enough to get to use it. I can hardly wait. But what to do with The other long barreled Stirlingworth. I set it to Macon gunstocks just before the The thread started with some people having a bad experience with that company. I was pretty Despondent after reading the thread and waited to see what would happen. The gun came back about a week ago(5 months ) and I was pleasantly surprised. Wood is Good and inletting is as good as the original, straight stocked as I requested. With a well fit Jostam HY-Gun red pad, oil finish and slightly finer checkering. Still looks Foxy. Not over the top and shoots like a dream. I will have to finish polishing the extended Straight stock trigger guard I sent with the Gun and get the serial number engraved on it some day when I put the dam thing down. I am Sorry that other people had a bad experience but I am more than satisfied with the result

GMCS,
Sounds like two great projects on excellent guns. If you wouldn't mind posting pics of the restock and trigger guard - I'm in the process of the very same with a restock/straight conversion on a 16 ga Sterlingworth. Also be interested to know who you will choose to engrave the serial number and whether the zig zag border engraving will be added to the tang?
Thanks and please keep us posted on the upgrade as well. I've heard nothing but high remarks concerning Gunter's work.
