Hyppolite Corombelle (1871-1943)developed the style of decorative engraving that incorporates a background fine English scroll over which is superimposed bouquets of flowers, ribbons and festoons. He was the father of the late Lyson Corombelle (1894-1971) who was a highly respected gun engraver in her own right. He was also the founder of an engraving school in Bologna, Italy where he lived until his death. Cheers, Roger C. I really seem to like that good Belgian engraving style, you look in the middle & the rest seems to explode, like fire works...very hard to describe, but oh so beautiful to look at! Cordy was a very fine maker, yes? I too, would LOVE to see the whole Gun, nice work Sir cheers Franc
