Maybe someone can tell me the years these shells were used. I like to take photographs of guns and add some paraphernalia like some of these shells and would like to be able to put them age wise to the gun used.
Winchester Super X roll crimped

Winchester Repeater Super Speed

Remington Shur Shot

Remington UMC Nitro Club

Imagine shooting these...

The 'UMC' headstamp was replaced ca1912 by the 'REM-UMC' HS. The corrugated REM-UMC hull was incorporated in 1934 and their star crimp was fully incorporated by 1947. The original 'SUPER-X' loads were made with 'FIELD' hulls from 1922 until sometime in the 1930s. I would have to do some digging for info on the Winchester shell.

If you ever want more of those Winchester paper rounds I have a few to spare. Like a lot of few more to spare. I have "trap" loads and some 16ga as well. Pretty sure these are from before the 30s.

Both the Rem Shur Shot and the Win Super Speed were available as far back as 1936. Can't tell you how much earlier than that.

The one-piece box for the Super-X first appears in the October 15, 1933, Western Cartridge Co. paper, but the shells with it still appear to be the Field shell. Some 1934 paper still shows the Field head stamp, but some show the style brass of the first shell pictured with the Patent info and a Super-X head stamp. The Super-X 12-gauge 3-inch shells and all the Super-X shells with Lubaloy shot were catalogued as being in the high brass Record shell at least until the Super-X got the Super-Seal crimp in 1948.
