Nice looking 12 gauge buckshot hull. They must have some really tough Skeets to use buckshot. The media couldn't get anything straight if they wanted to, which they don't.

Oh lucky America! I can't imagine this has happened in Germany...! All his permissions would have blown away forever! And of course new discussions about weapons in private hands...! You have it (still) better!

The club I shoot at, a little north of St. Charles, has multiple signs prohibiting snap caps, and an open action policy. I guess with good reason.

I used to regularly shoot at that club when I was a resident of Illinois. This appears to be one of those truly unfortunate accidents but certainly preventable. IMO: This is all the more reason why NO ONE should be "manipulating" a firearm except while on the firing line. Jim

I'll bet he does lose whatever privileges he had at that club. They'd be crazy to leave him intact and risk it happening again with more injuries. The next victims would sue and own that club otherwise.

There is nothing fatal or permanent about banning someone from a specific club. It is good punishment and the word is spread. The person will find another place to shoot and all will be well. Such a person should not continue to shoot at the place of his infraction.

Since Sgt Bullwinkle wasn't going to pursue charges, the ol' guy can still keep his guns and squirrel hunt.
