Mike, we gave you that information--in a roundabout way, wandering into areas of proof, proofmarks, pressure, etc. With the proofmarks you report on that gun, the best we can do is tell you that it was proofed no earlier than 1904 and no later than 1925. Don't know of any way to be more specific unless you can find a serial number list from Midland.

Thanks Larry, that's fair. As I understand Midland's records were destroyed and are unavailable. I thought the serial number, S/N 56464, would be a good reference point as I have seen postings regarding a few Midland's which were later guns than 1925 but have lower numbers than mine.

I went and searched past posts regarding Midland Serial Numbers and age. The one which is closet to mine is numbered 69,501 and the poster and others confirmed due to same proof marks as my gun that it is a pre 1925.
