Gents,
I hope that the information some of you have posted on Lt. Col. William W. McMillan, USMC isn't a reflection of your other posts.

GOOGLE (and the wind) is your friend.

Good shooting.

MOS 2112 HMMMMM, sounds like an armourer.

Job Description: The precision weapons repairer/technician performs duties incident to inspection, maintenance, fabrication, and repair of precision small arms in support of the Competition-In-Arms Program (CIAP) and Depot Maintenance Intraservice Support Agreement (DMISA) program. This MOS will be assigned as a NMOS only.

I was on the USMCR rifle team from 1967-1971. However, I can't remember the name of a single armourer on the truck at Camp Perry. I must be getting old.

You have the right dope- but unlike the Frenchies, my beloved USMC spells that MOS armorer--I was qualified up to the .50 caliber "Ma Deuce" BMG--Armorers are assigned to various units- aircraft, infantry,Force Recon, Scout-Sniper, tanks and also to Match teams- depending on the need and TO of each particular unit- But, like all Marines, whether a L/Cpl. or a Lt.Col.- we all go through the same Boot Camp and ITR and all carry the basic rifleman/infantry MOS- 0311--
