My brother found this in a house he recently purchased and I have not been able to find any good information regarding the age and value.
The bottom of the barrel has some markings stamped, 13, and I assume a serial number of 10150.
Is anyone able to provide some insight?

mpr pict/shack is running a promo that seems to block access to your pics. So, without checking proofmarks there ain't much I can say. There was a Manton shop in London around the time your gun was made. They sold Birmingham guns of good quality. According the only book I have that notes this shop the gun should have the London address of 6 Dover St on the rib. Of course the book can be wrong so you should check that the proof marks are from Birmingham. You can do this on-line.
If the gun is Brit it should date from the mid 1870s to 80s. It appears from the tiny picture to be in banged up shape. Is it?

Here is a direct link to the images, I will see what I can find online. But yes, it is a banged up.
Thanks!

Please!More pictures! I have a similar gun in 16 gauge. The only problem is that the proof marks are not the same. My gun has no makers name on it at all. I was told that the gun was Belgian

Well this is a conundrum, this gun has the appearance of a Belgian low cost gun and yet has Birmingham proof marks,if I'm not mistaken. The legend on the rib is wrong for a London Manton gun.

The barrel flat on mine is stamped with an ELG* in an oval. The trigger guard and butt plate are both horn and some of the engraving in inlaid with gold. The wood has some figure and the checkering is fairly fine . This leaves me to believe that the gun, while of Belgian manufacture, was not an cheep gun. The gun also has 2 serial numbers, leading me to believe that it was a recent import by Century or Sarco. The shape of the receiver is the same as MPR993's gun.
