I am having a problem with a Savage-Fox BSE single trigger. I need someone who really knows these to repair it. I sent it out to a well known gunsmith to adjust the triggers pulls and now, it will occasionally fan fire. It doesn't happen often but once is too much. I think it is the inertia block but that's just a guess. Since these guns are no longer made, the factory is not a option. Usually, there is an old employee who does service guns that he used to make. That's the kind of help I need.

The left sear (assuming a non-selective trigger) may be too light an engagement now after adjustment and it's just occasionally falling from the recoil of the right bbl being fired. Maybe it's not engageing all the way when opening to cock it.
The inertia block only holds the trigger from movement during it's recoil induced engagment. The sear itself is still free to move in most guns. If the engagement is light or faulty,,it can still slip off the sear notch of the hammer and let it fall.
I'd return it to the well known gunsmith to make it right. He should know how if he's all that good.

Kutter..."been there, done that". I can't send it back a third time to the same person. It's becoming very expensive with little hope of a different outcome. I had a gun that functioned perfectly with very heavy trigger pulls and now I have a gun that works most of the time with lighter pulls. Neither of these scenarios is very attractive. Your hypothesis is one of a couple that were discussed and looked into. My gunsmith is a very knowledgeable fellow but, obviously, not an expert on this gun and its trigger. At this point, I want someone who is.
