King, I love that mantra. And I apply it to most areas of my life. I work in consumer products with retailers and I hate shopping....for anything. I try to buy most things I really need slightly used....just as good, half the price. One of the best attitudes I ever developed is that I don't buy unless it is a quality item perfectly suited to my needs. Easier to do now that I am single again. LOL

But I do allow myself some indulgences.....guns and hunting. And I have a son and a bunch of nephews to indoctrinate into our passion for doubles. They all hunt when they can.

As an aside, with the American makers, I have the Foxes and a couple Remingtons and am on the lookout for the right Lefever. For some reason Parkers and Elsies don't do it for me.

We shoot at the Arnold Trail club in Sidney, ME.

King, My old fox was a 1929. And my LC is one of the early Marlin era guns, 1946, from what I've read, still built at the Hunter Arms factory, just under new ownership.

I also own an old Ithaca Lewis, built in 1903. Stub twist barrels, barrel serial #s don't match the the receiver, but sweet handling gun nonetheless. I shoot it with my handloaded 2" black powder loads and proven it on backyard bushytails.
