Ad in a new magazine for Perazzi's SxS "The New DC 12". One is stocked like a normal Perazzi palm swell grip large buttstock. Other was a straight grip with nice lines.
Has anybody seen one of the nice looking stocked guns in person ?

Yes a friend bought one and had it at the gun club. It was a rather plain gun. He ordered a English grip and 32" barrels and got the pistol grip and 30" barrels. It is made like a MX8 in a lot of ways. I have also seen them on the web showing a more Europeon style pistol grip. Being a Perazzi I am sure they are built to shoot. I own three Perazzis O&U and they can get the job done.

MX 8 is the O/A to have for sure. Idea of a Perazzi SxS is interesting though. Straight grip long barrels plan finish catches my eye. Ad says it has the MX 8 trigger which is a big plus

I'm scratching my head a bit over the drop out trigger on this gun. Great, if a dedicated target gun, but I'd much prefer the few ounces of weight and slight reduction in girth of the fixed trigger group. Also, much prefer the selector on the tang, a la MX12, etc.
As to trigger quality, I can't tell the difference between leaf and coil springs...and Perazzi can make a leaf spring fixed trigger as well (see the MX16, for example), if that's a show stopper for some.

They're a long time coming since they announced them and had one displayed at our range. They look built like the o/u's. The lines are BSS-like, to me. Nothing pretty or svelt about them, IMO. My friend ordered a couple .410's as soon as they would take orders. No sign of them yet.

The drop out triggers are easy to clean and even some one as mechanically stupid as me can work on them.

If I had to work on one, I would consider selling it. Afterall, isn't that the only reason to buy one in the first place? Its supposed to more reliable than a bowling ball? The drop-out trigger doesn't inspire confidence.

Perazzi has building drop out triggers for over 40 years, thousands of guns. Even the earliest were just fine.
The only problem w/ them is that they are way TOOOOOO easy to get to and disassemble and any putz can do it. And many have. Fortunately they are also way easy to repair after said putz has "fixed" them.

Perazzi built SxS guns in the early days, before the O/U guns became famous. They have also built guns that didn't have drop out triggers, I think. Most of the P guns that I have seen and the two that I have owned had V springs to power the hammers, and V springs are liable to break, although they are supposed to have faster lock times. With the drop out feature, it only takes a couple of minutes to replace a spring. They also sell a little kit containing a pair of extra springs, a pair of firing pins with springs, a tool to compress the V spring and a rod to remove the firing pin retainer. For those with deeper pockets and a need to get back into action faster, they also sell extra trigger assemblies.

I handled a Perazzi DC12 at the Perazzi booth at the Grand American, and I was not impressed. The lines of the DC12 are clubish.
