Oh. Kent Matrix

I shoot muzzle loaders now, so I forgot this one, which is not sold separate from shells.

Anybody ever use ITX in damascas barreled guns? Specificaly, I have a 10 ga Rem 1894 with 32" barrels and full and full chokes. I'd like to try some ITX wrapped in BPI's appropriate steel shot wads, but I'd like to hear from somebody else who has successfully done so first.

I've been shooting ITX 6's and 4's out of my old 12ga 2 1/2" sxs's(not Damascus) using 1200fps 7/8 oz low pressure loads and am having great luck. I keep a 6 in the right barrel and 4's in the left 90% of the time I only need the right barrel. I had a flock of geese coming in low over my duck decoys and forgot to pull the left hammer and shot just with the sixes. Killed the goose I was aiming at and brought two more down one died before the dog got to it and the other I put a round of 4's in while the dog was returning with the other cripple. I think the ITX stuff is great.

I load with just a standard plastic and fiber wads as ITX original 10 is soft(I get better patterns with plastic), the ITX-13 is hard and needs steel style wads but they raise pressure.

Pick up a copy of BP's ITX manual they have a bunch of loads for 2 7/8 10ga hulls 1 1/8 and 1 1/4 oz.

After the first shot the rest are just noise.

Thanks for the help. I think I'll go with BP iTX kit. I'm going on a spring goose hunt, I've been told that BB are best for snows. Any thoughts on small shot sizes? The last time I shot geese was with lead #2's.

I have had good results with a somewhat similar non-tox product called "NICE SHOT." One can use regular lead reloading data and components with NICE shot.

In a 10 ga. twist-barreled BAKER, I used 10/12 Guage-Mate adapters and then used my 12 ga. reloads with the NICE shot. The full chokes still patterned about like Modified, and worked well on pheasants.

Depending on the chokes and the shot size you intend to use, steel MIGHT be OK in a Model 21. But I'd ask Winchester first.
