I have a consignment custom Mauser for sale by signed George Beitzinger on the barrel. It seems to me I saw some info about or on him here?? My memory tells me he worked at/for G&H and had his own workshop in Brooklyn(?) Relatively contemporary, he may still be working?? Any factual help would be appreciated. Very nice rifle BTW. I post a couple of photos after a bit...

Steven, the pictures on the linked thread are on David Condon's site. He still has the guns.

Steve,
AFAIK George and son are still making custom Mausers down in Queens, NY. He used to have a table at our local gun show until the shows were stopped by the Newtown tragedy. George was nice enough to talk with me at shows about custom builds even though it would be years before I could actually afford anything from him. I bought a few guns (a Beretta and milsurps) and things from him. I used to go down to visit him in Queens, nice shop in a rundown neighborhood back then.
You are correct, he was at G&H for quite some time, in fact I got Michael in touch with him a few years ago to discuss some G&H engravers. Don't think much came of it except anecdotal info.

G&H often has used Beitzinger rifles listed for sale on their web site. They have a 300 mag on a Mark X Mauser action there now.

I believe Beitzinger is in Queens, where my Grandfather lived for many years.
Thanks to all the posters for getting me on the right track. If anyone is interested in a very fine Beitzinger Mauser 30-06 at a very favorable price they can contact me.

Haven't been in NYC in years, but he did have a shop in Queens near Atlantic avenue. Did a semi custom 1903A3 for me many years ago. new A3 barrel installation, redfield front sight and drilled and tapped for a lyman 57 rear sight and reblued everything. Hit the headspace right on the money as the origional bolt and a A4 bolt headspace perfectly. And even longer than that did a model 70 bolt handle on my model 54 in 30-30. And that was a long time ago. Thanks for the memories. Frank
