Hello folks i have acquired an Army&Navy CSL boxlock ejector shotgun recently. The gun has a different ejector system which i didnt fully understood + it has damascus barrels and doll's head extension. I have send a mail to University of Glasgow to learn about the gun and they have send me their ledgers about the gun,but unfortunately the maker of the gun is unknown. The only description is " A&N best hammerless ejector" and it was sold to some Esquire Baton in 1889 for a sum of 42 pounds. It has superb engraving on the action and fences are clipped etc.Can any of you gents guess who might be the maker of this gun? I will post pictures soon as well.

Kem, we really need good, clear photos to attempt any educated guess. The bulk of A&N guns were made by Scott or Webley & Scott but there were also other makers.

I can imagine what you've got, at 42 pounds. My 1913 A&N extractor was sold for six pounds, six shillings, according to my letter. Its a good gun, a favourite. Awaiting your pictures.

Welcome, Kem. For that price in 1889 you will have a very fine gun, maybe even a best work gun. You might want to get a copy of Dig Hadoke's book on boxlocks, "The British Boxlock Gun and Rifle.". It is a must read for those interested in boxlocks.

Sounds like a nice gun. I'll take a guess that it was made by WR. Let's see the pictures.
