I am seeking suggestions for a stop such as this one. Not a machinist, so I need to purchase something that will work.

Pete, the one BWT gage I made, I used brass and cone shaped the top like yours. I also used a thumb screw to hold it secure to the rod.
I can do both 10 and 12 gage on the one cone.

Let me know what the diameter of your rod is and I can make you one. I have some brass on hand, just pay for the shipping.

This is what the cones on mine look like.

Drill a hole in a brass hex head pipe plug of sufficient size.

Pete, That is my gauge, the stem is 5/8" rod the bushing is a 5/8 x 3/4 brass bushing the collar is a 5/8 shaft collar (hardware item). I turned the taper on the bushing on my lathe but I bet you could do it on a drill press with a file. The brass bushing is free to rotate with the barrels.

I sent you a PM. My email is in my profile.

James,

Yes, I know the one I have pictured is yours. I liked it so much that I finally had to find a stop. grin
