I have been using Acraglass gel for over 35 years as a knifemaker (retired) with no problems. I have colored it many times with various types of sanding saw dust with no problems. I have also used it to reinforce the stock of a LC Smith that I restocked with great results. It is the only epoxy that I use.It seems to last in usable form for a very long time.

I have used Acra-Glass for more than 35 years and used to use Micro bed before it went under. The Acra Glass tends to be a harder material when cured. It can crack when removing parts from it. it is great for cracks, especially when thinned but I found Microbed to be a better working material for glass bedding actions , barrel channels etc. the Micro bed had a longer working time, didn't run and was easier to trim . It did not fully cure for at least 48 hours. AG cured hard in less than 24.
Each has its own pluses and minuses. I tried the Acra Glass Gel and do not like it , not the same as Micro Bed. Maybe they have tweaked the Gel formula but it didn't trip my trigger.
