That $13.99 per box with 11/16 oz is cheaper than I normally see the 3" .410's carrying the same shot load at Wally World. Theoretically at least a .579" bore should handle that load Much better than a .410" bore.

OK Jon now you have no excuses. Loaded ammo is available, reloading tools are available, you can make your own fiber wads and over shot cards if push comes to shove. You've got to have it.

A local pawn shop has an Iver Johnson single barrel in 24 gauge that would probably allow you to scratch that itch somewhat cheaper.

but I've yet to see a DuPont era Remington ammo catalogue that lists these shells?!?

I own a 24 bore and I would be interested in your reloading data.

I have been buying my 24 bore ammo from Ballistic Products. They usually have a good inventory and often offer a flat shipping rate on ammo for $4.99 per order, regardless of weight.

I also own a couple of 28's, and they will do just about anything a 24 will do, but I prefer to carry my 24 bore German made gun afield. It just feels right.

Well I made the deal subject to inspection, barrel measurement and function test. I have to alter my barrel wall measuring apparatus, it does not work on 28's and just does work with 20's. Not too hard to do just takes a little time. Gun should be here next week.

What should I consider too thin for a 24? On 12's I figure .025 plus is good and .020 is marginal. On small bores, which work at higher pressures, should I keep the same range? Since few have proofed a 24 lately what do you consider marginal for 20 and 28 wall thickness for reproof?
