Well, here in Texas it should be: first day you can buy your hunting license. Or should be. Can't. Wal mart, Dicks, and Academy's systems are all down. OK, I'll just pay the 5.00 convenience fee and buy it online. Except I can't. Theirs seems to be down, or at least not letting me have the option, sending me to "A retailer near you." Any of my fellow Texans experiencing this?
Mike

Howdy WS 16,
Haven't tried yet. Guess I'll wait a day and see if things settle down.

I just bought my Texas hunting license online. Went without a hitch.
Thanks for the reminder.
I am glad to be here.

Follow up:
Got so frustrated with TDPW Friday that I wrote to them in their "contact us" section.
At least that was working. Said something to the effect of "Come on guys, this is Texas, not D.C.!" I really did. Biggest insult I could think of at the time. Got a reply at 4:56 thanking me for contacting them. Said their whole system was down statewide, but that it was all better now. Got back online and got the license and crane endorsement w/o a hitch.
Am leaving for the lease a week from today. Will spend most of next Sunday helping Postoak put the finishing tune up touches on the '88 Landcruiser (AKA the "Lease Limo"), then head West to camp. Lots to do still before everyone arrives Saturday and Sunday. Son and new son-in-law will be my only guests for dove opener this year. Will be my son-in-law's first hunt- hopefully we'll get him hooked.

So I run up to Cabela's to pick up a few cases of shells, and ended up buying a GDR Simson SxS 20 gauge ejector gun choked .05 & .15 - I couldn't resist.
