It seems there was a discussion a while back about a Turkish company making bespoke shotguns and turning out a pretty good gun. Does anyone remember who the company was? A not so rich but avid hunter friend has been talking about getting a bespoke gun configured for a lefty.

DeHaan in Idaho has custom made Huglus built. They look good and you will not get another custom gun for the money. CZ-USA can also have Huglu build you a custom gun. Several years ago they had a 4 gun set of 32" SxS with fabulous Turkish wood. Beautiful guns. The triggers were still, how do I put it, lacking. Of course, a $2500 custom Turkish gun can not be compared to an $8000 or more Spanish or Italian gun. You do get what you pay for. Regards, Jeff

Dickinson Arms http://dickinsonarms.com/They are bringing in guns built by the same factory that made the Kimber Valier and Marias, Smith & Wesson Gold Elite, Hatfield London, and of course the new Dickinsons carried by Cabelas. They are just now starting to bring in custom guns Adam

I have a nice SxS DeHaan SGrS in .410 and really enjoy it. Every feature, from muzzle to butt, was my choice. I am confident in its design and quality and it is my main grouse gun. Be advised, unless things have changed, resale value on even the best Huglu gun is poor. I knew that when I placed my order. A few years back, the Huglu guns earned a bad reputation, and it seems to be sticking with them to this day. There is a large devoted Huglu group that frequents Shotgunworld.com. They can fill you in. Good Luck!

Speaking of Turkish guns, I was at my gun club today and they carry the new SKB line of shotguns. They had a 410 and 28 gauge in there that felt pretty good. They also had a 30" 20 bore as well. These guns are the same as the Diksons I suppose with the trigger plate action. They had single triggers and the 410 and 28 had that schanbul forearm. Has anyone tried the 410?

Back in 60s I ordered a L Bernardelli 20 ga sidelock, higher grade. When I got it 9 months later it was horrible! Had a red platic butt plate and the stock was very dark walnut with drying checks all through it.Checkering was only thing good about it.I wish I had used that money and bought a better grade Fox,21 or quality side by side.I have a 410 Turkish Yildz side by side and it is ok I guess. Thanks for input Bobby, that's why I came here looking for knowledgeable people who'd actually purchased these (relatively) inexpensive guns. My friend's not so much a SXS aficionado but rather a hunter/fisherman who'd like a SXS he can shoot as a left-hander. I warned him about the slippery slope he was on by buying even one SXS. However, he then reminded me that he did have a 16 gauge Nitro Special (with 3" DAH LOL)... Oh well, I warned him.
