OP wyobirds Sidelock Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 342 NW Wyoming	My grip preference is straight with a splinter fore arm. Most of the older American shotguns appear to have PG's with a mix of beaver tail and splinter fore ends. A few have POW's with splinter fore endsI'm curious about the history of grips. Anyone now the whys and perhaps the history of grips and gripping? Jim
