I have yet to see one of the darned round trigger plate 28 gauges. I believe I would prefer that to the sidelock.

The gun in the video looked like it had side plates, I couldn't see any indication of bridle pins.
Or maybe a pinless sidelock?

Beautiful and at a great price. I know he didn't weight it but a 28 gauge at 6 pounds? My 16 gauge Ithaca 'Barn' gun or Nitro Special weighs six pounds.

Or maybe a pinless sidelock? I couldn't see any pins either. Surely the 'expert' on the video knows what a sidelock is; he mentioned several times that it was 'a full sidelock'. Think I'll pass on buying one until we know for sure...Geo

Nothing necessarily amiss IMO -- 6 lbs. is a nice weight for light loads in any gauge. The 28 ga. Ruger RLs at this weight are prized by many. I added lead tape under the barrels of my 28 ga. Parker Repro to smooth out the whippy handling. Jay

I dont think its a sidelock.... ESPECIALLY at that price. I was told by the president of Dickinson just a few months ago that the sidelocks were only available in 12 and 20.... plus the Dickinson sidelocks Ive seen were going for around $4K. Like this... http://www.gunsinternational.com/Dickinson-Prestige-SL1228-SXS-12-GA-.cfm?gun_id=100514438I believe the gun in question is the sideplated model.... the "expert" in the video is mistaken. Still a nice piece. Love the wood. And he guessed at the weight. Most of the 28ga boxlock Dickinsons weigh in around 5 1/4 lbs to 5 1/2 lbs.... the sideplated version should only be a few ounce more.... which is about perfect in my opinion... light but still shootable. There are some Turkish-made SKB true sidelocks on the market. Have yet to handle one.

Larry,
Those SKBs are made by the same maker that makes the Dickinsons (and who previously made the Kimber Valier and S&W Elite).... AKUS in Huglu, Turkey.
