Superposed Broadway Trap. You can find a nice one for $1500, probably less. Understand the salt wood issues, but you are safe if you buy 1965 or earlier guns.

If you want one to compete I'd see if you could find a used 32 inch o/u .I am not sure what $1500 buys but the centergy Browning might be in your price or the XT if you add 300 to 500.It would be great if it had an adjustable comb because you will almost never buy one that fits.
30 inch would be my minimum.

I'd go with the SKB/Ithaca shown by AmarilloMike in a jiffy just for looks!!!
(And I understand they are very well made). (And less dear).

For recreational trapshooting...I second Bob's Browning Superposed suggestion....... Lots of gun for the $$$ You won't have the "trendiest" gun at the club.....but will have a quality piece of nearly fool proof equipment....The 32" Broadway is still a target crusher, just as it was in 1970 when it took me to the AA 27 AA realm as a youngster...I still have several of them in the safes...

I never felt out of place with one since Hall of Famers such as Gene "Barney" Barnhart had one (before the Ljutic's) and I shot on a squad as an 18 year old with HOF Buford Bailey when he smashed 160 doubles without a miss with an out of the box 32" Broadway...Frank Little dominated the East Coast traps with a 30" Lightning Super during that same time period... He Also qualified for the '64 Olympics with it. The list goes on and on....
Nothing to adjust, no tubes, no tricks, how did they do it....? Reckon they just had a lot of talent, and keen competitive insight....

frank Little could run a 100 with a .410 more than likely but he is the exception . I highly reccomend his book too by the way.

One of the best trap shooters I know and I know a heap, shoots a Remmongton 3200. He likes it because the price and he has figured out how to work on it.There is no telling how many 100's he and his son have shot 12 or so State singles champions.
They are good guns jus find one that has not been shot to death. The average trap shooter probably shoots 3000 plus a year would be my guess so a 1965 gun might have had a lot of rounds ran through it as opposed to a newer gun.

I appreciate your replies and advice, but I think I will go looking for a used Browning Superposed. I had one I bought the day after I came back from Vietnam in 1970. SN 69172, made in 1970. I know they are out there and available. Don't have to worry about getting one serviced. I know about the five years that Browning used salt cured wood on their guns. I saw two guns listed on Guns International that caught my eye. One is a Rottweil 72ATT Combo, two barrels (one single and one over and under), adjustable stock, and small crack behind trigger guard. The price is $1495.00. Cabela's Richfield has it for sale. GI Listing 100535509 and Lister 4381584. The other one is a Franchi Model 2005 2 barrel combo set. Gun was manufactured in 1977. Comes with a fitted case and is offered by Artmeis Outfitters, Wilmington, Del. GI Listing is 100534781 and Lister E802. Price is the same. Any thoughts? once again, many thanks for your feedback.
