You may be near Buck Hamlin in Pevely, MO
636-479-4304
He is a L.C. Smith, Baker, and Lefever specialist. It is very likely your gun could benefit from a careful check, clean, refurbish, and refinish the barrels.

Buck is great but if he can't meet your delivery time try Dale Edmonds in Kansas City (816) 444-2040. His work is exceptional.

All of the above gentleman named will do a great job, they will give you the best finish and make the barrels look like they just came from the factory or better. The thing is, if the rest of the gun has it's old finish it will in my opinion not look right.
When I do mine I only make the barrels show the pattern and not bring the full look to them compared to the rest of the gun.
These are WW Greener barrels from 1892

Dale Edmonds does fine work. He just restored a set of Colt 1883 barrels for me and they are beautiful. Turn around time was quick.

I totally agree with David (JDW), older guns with the patina of age look best with barrels that are refinished with a soft pattern. You won't live long enough to wear down a bright pattern to blend in. Years ago I sent Keith Kearcher a set of Parker barrels that had all the pattern worn off where it was carried. The rest of the barrels still had a bit of finish remaining. After discussing it with Keith he experimented and only cleaned the barrels before rusting--he did nothing to remove the old finish. After a few rustings the worn area took on the same appearance as the rest of the barrels. Beautiful and didn't look refinished. Something to consider......

This gun was refinished when I got it. Case color and all looked new. The barrels had been hot blued and I just wanted it restored like it came from factory. I had to get mag glass to see pattern when I took small part of blue off.
