I have Launch Edition #20 with exh. Turkish that will blow your socks off. I haven't shot it a whole lot, but the several hundred rounds I've put through it have been without a hitch.

Ont the other hand, I have a light frame 30" RBL12 that had trigger problems, and a heavy frame 32" RBL 12 for Sporting Clay competition that had trigger problems twice and had the forend lug come loose. CSMC fixed everything, but it was aggravating.

I am still glad I own them. The heavy frame 32" RBL12 has really worked great for SC, and the 30" light frame is a killer dove gun.

With all the positive response I can't wait till I am in the gun room. And get my Hands on that RBL. My wife rolled her eyes but she should be us too me and my doubles. Heck! we have been married for 30 years and she does like shooting clays.
However, she did state I was not allowed to buy or touch another Purdy coz she's all the Purdy I need. :-)

I have a RBL-12 with double triggers and an English stock. I went for the upgraded wood and it's a beauty. My only complaint was the goofy interchangeable recoil pad. I just swapped it out with a permanently mounted red pad that weighs half as much and fits much more nicely. My gun weighs 7.5 pounds with 26 inch barrels and does very nicely on grouse. It's a great American made gun that is sure to be my long term hunting partner.

I have an RBL20 Launch Edition with exhibition American Black Walnut.
It's a beautiful double, single trigger works well with opener.
Opener not required so save $500, other wise for a boxlock gun, it can't be beat.
I even took a Canda Goose with HeviShot #6 out of a pair that flew over me while jump shooting ducks. I don;t know who was more surprised, the goose or me!-Rcihard

Yes, both are single triggers. The first was on the light-frame gun. It had a crunchy pull on the second barrel, enough to cause a flinch. Fixed and no further problems.

On the heavy frame The barrel would not fire on the second pull sometimes. Fixed, no further problems after several hundred rounds. I love both guns. And they have very nice crisp triggers now.

Just my opinion, but if you have patience, you could probably find a used/unused 20 RBL in your desired configuration for $1-2k less than current factory prices.
That is how I bought mine.

I have a late Launch. I remain unimpressed. The exhibition Turkish walnut was no where close to top drawer. Trigger pulls were creepy and let go at about 8#. When fired, one can feel the cocking levers slap the forearm, hard. I sent it back and CSM fixed the triggers. It is not a gun that generates any interest for me. That said, I have seen and shot others that I would love to have. Bottom line, I would never buy one sight-unseen, but it might be a different story if the gun could be handled first.

Shot yesterday with a friend at the Whittington Center. He had his pride and joy, a CSMC Fox CE, a pretty high dollar gun. While it was in a gun rack I noticed the muzzle and looked closer--the top rib has broken loose for about four inches and is just flopping around. Not the first problem he has had, the gorgeous wood was selected strictly for figure without any concern for strength and a couple years ago a serious sideways crack developed near the head and had to be returned for repair. To the credit of CSMC they repaired it without charge. But it just seems there are way too many of their guns sent out with serious problems. They just seem to have very poor quality control.
