The Dow is down another 300+ points today. If this continues there will be bargains found all over the place.

This is easy.

Beretta BL or 56 series 20gauges.

This one is 5lbs 10oz, all steel and handles like a dream.

I have a friend who believes the BL-3 is the "Mother of all Sleepers" in the double gun community. He might be right. A Beretta 20ga for under $1000 seems hard to beat. You can find those BL-3's in that neighborhood all day, every day.

I recently acquired a Browning Liege O/U 12ga. 28"bbls, IC/Mod that is in new condition. I don't think it has ever been fired.
Since this gun was made in 1973, I found this to be a fantastic buy at $1,100. It is also a very unusual combination.
I bought one new in 1975 for $473.50 and 40 years later this was a steal.....great guns, not a lot of money.

GH Parker 12 gauges are great guns and can easily be had for under $2,000. Actually, most of the field grade American classics go for under $2,000 and make great shooting guns

The issue with American classics (also with most Brit and European guns) is that many of them are short-chambered, something a lot of people don't want to deal with. A bigger issue for me, on American classics (but much less so on the foreign guns) is a stock with too much drop.

Recent posters have mentioned BL series Berettas as good candidates. I have a BL1 12 gauge, ribless, double triggers, front hinged, 28" M&F, new condition, about unfired, that is probably the ultimate in all purpose upland guns. With spreaders, it would be useful for all gunning.
