"JAMES DIXON & SONS SHOT SHELL RELOADING MACHINE
Inventory Number - C26049
JAMES DIXON & SONS SHOT SHELL RELOADING MACHINE JAMES DIXON & SONS SHOT SHELL RELOADING MACHINE JAMES DIXON & SONS SHOT SHELL RELOADING MACHINE JAMES DIXON & SONS SHOT SHELL RELOADING MACHINE
Circa 1900s shot shell powder loading machines by James Dixon & Sons of Sheffield England. Powder and Shot machines, brass and brass and wooden trays for holding 100 rounds of 12 Gauge shot shells. Complete with hoppers , one marked for powder, one for shot. Manual crank handle loads 10 shells at a time while moving the tray forward for the next row of shells. Both function fine. In good over all condition.,"

I have no connection to the reloader or Simpson Collector's Firearms.

I've never seen one of these or one like it.

Best,

Mike

This is I believe the Dixon Climax loader, used by many gunmakers in the early 20th Century when they loaded and sold their own cartridges.

I know Frederick Beesley had one in the basement of his St James's Street shop in the 1910s/1920s and in slack periods workmen (and others!) were sent down there to load as many cartridges as they could.

Tim thanks for information, that is interesting.

Simpson's has since put up the same type and maker for putting the powder in sixteen gauge, but it is missing the hopper.

What a fabulous relic! Could be the centerpiece of a gunroom. And it doesn't have a digital readout!

That would be perfect for that Joe. Great web-site Mike, a lot of items that could be of interest to people on this board. The antique powder flasks are of great interest to me at least.

Did anyone see any old trade English labels?
