I am certain that this subject has been addressed before but I don't seem to be able to locate it. Anyway, I am trying to remove the barrels from the receiver and do not know how to remove the forearm.

Open the action.Turn it upside down on a table/bench. Push the button on the bottom of the barrels and you can open a bit further and move frame forward, then lift frame away from barrels.

I have 2 of these. I tried this on both and neither will come apart. Where might I be going wrong?

As I recall, the extractor either has to be pushed in or pulled out. There are instructions in the American Arms catalogs of some vintages at least. Reprints at Cornell Publishing may be available.

Thank you Daryl. The extractors have to be pushed back in, then comes apart very easily. I thought that the grade was stamped on the barrels or receiver flats which is why I wanted to separate them. No such markings. One I am sure is a field grade the other much higher.
Thank you again, Tom
