Anyone here familiar enough with Win 21 barrel construction to tell me how the forend lugs are attached? Are they just a wedge that solders to the barrels, or does it wrap around and cradle the barrels to some extent? I have one that is loose and wobbling around, but will not pull out with application of heat. Is full dissassembly of the barrels required to remove and resolder the lug?

brian: it is problems like this, along with a lack of mechanical skills, patience and imagination that caused me to give up my fantasy of being a gunsmith...you have my admiration and sympathy...
meantime, i will check with old ed and see if he can provide insight...

Answer received by a member privately. Barrels need to come apart.
