What's your point?

It all depends on the lighting and the background.

I agree that photos can tell and hide a lot. If a seller has limited photos I wonder what he is not showing me. Sometimes I buy a gun inspite of bad photos but often I just pass.

If the seller has many items for sale I will look at several others to see if this is his normal level of pictures or may be slanted to hide flaws.

I myself have been guilty of not always using good light or showing features I should. Being a very rank amature photo taker I often miss the mark. That's one of the reasons I so rarely post pictures.

Bushmaster, I believe the stock looks better in your picture (the one taken on your couch), as some dents and scratches are less noticeable. Is that your point?

I believe the message that BMaster is trying to convey is that
all shotguns look better when they are in his possession and on his couch.
Probably holds true for women too wink

I look at it a bit different... I think the add picture shows a pretty Ho Hum stock, with plain Jane wood...

The picture on his sofa shows a stock with a BEAUTIFUL piece of Walnut...

Sorry but I see the same "Ho Hum plane Jane" piece of walnut in both photos.
