Just for fun....a look into the old days when SxS's ruled. The first one reminds me of the Honorable Joe Wood; the young man exhibits the same flinty-eyed, head in the air shooting style that has earned Joe the nickname "Ichabod" from the Tuesday Morning Loafers at Amarillo Gun Club.
The others are the legendary Nash Buckingham at Beaver Dam, former President Grover Cleveland and his paddler, an elegantly attired Bavarian lady hunter, a bird hunter and his dogs, and a Parker owner with a pile of mallards. Oh, for the good old days.

I think the first picture had the text under it, in a much younger voice of Joe saying.

"Dang, I think Mike bent my barrels again when he borrowed my gun. Only that could explain the misses in it since he used it"

That big drake mallard in the last picture is still alive - most probably a live decoy.

That must be the bag limit of several shooters..... I hope!

Someone saved the picture I've posted in the past, of my Dad at King Lake, Minnesota, in October 1932, with Grandpa's Parker, Curly and some ducks including one of the live decoys. Here he is in Columbia County, Washington, with his AE-Grade Remington 12-gauge forty years later --

I didn't know the late Nash B. was a "Southpaw", but I guess that makes sense, as he grew up in deep Dixie--

Buckingham was ambidextrous and could shoot from either shoulder as the situation demanded.

Those are probably Mike's rabbits.....he claims Joe never hits any quail....just poses with Mike's limit of birds and his dogs. I cannot testify to this as they never invite me on a hunt....I think they don't want any witnesses around to any of their shenanigans.
