One of my own sons was working a job in Pensacola,FL a couple of Springs ago just before turkey season. He did not have a car there, but wanted to hunt with the rest of us. He foolishly arranged a ride through Craig's-List up to GA.

The guy stranded him at a gas station and drove off with his stuff. Son called the cops and they got in touch with the man by cell phone and advised him my son just wanted his stuff back but he'd never make it to the GA line if he didn't cooperate.

He left the stuff at another gas station and the cops got my son to that location and he recovered his things. His brother drove down and got him and we opened the Spring Gobbler season together after all.

Cops told him he was really lucky the guy didn't rob and kill him instead of just driving off. Don't think he'll ever do something like that again...Geo

Wanting to go hunting will make you do some crazy stuff. Don't axe me how I know.

buying and selling can be risky...in order to do business one should first develop a feeling of trust in the other party...and if the deal does not meet expectations, then have a plan for recourse...

however, bringing a loaded gun to a potential transaction sounds absolutely insane to me...

Armslist is supposed to be for setting up local face-to-face transactions. Here in MN at least some suburban police departments encourage setting up the meetings in their parking lots.

No, bringing an unloaded gun would be insane. As long as it's you who doubts my sanity, I feel pretty comfortable.
