...looking for some M21 input. How many of you fellas have seen a "Deluxe Skeet" model? The gun is so marked on the floorplate & is listed as such in the Cody letter but I find no mention of that "grade" in my references. Pretty cool gun, factory 2 bbl set... 30" F&F and 28" WS1 & WS2. 12ga. Thanks, Tom

Deluxe was a grade that was introduced around 1940 and dropped about 1950. It was made in Trap, Skeet, Field and maybe Duck. It replaced the Trap and Custom grades during that time. Guns that are marked Trap, Duck and Skeet during that time are a type of gun not a grade. In 1950 when the Deluxe was dropped the Custom grade was reintroduced. Hope this helps.

Tom, I replied on the PGCA site. The only correction to Alan's reply is that the replacement for the Deluxe Grade after 1950 is the "Custom Built" Grade, rather than a reintroduction of the Custom Grade. Thanks, Alan.

Good on you, Murphy. What happened to the M21 Collectors website. "Dust in the wind?"
"The field is the touchstone of the man"..

The "bluepike.tripod.com" Model 21 site is alive and well although seldom sees an addition to its excellent content. The rare, maybe unique, Model 21 salesman's portfolio pictured on that site, belongs to me, is a lucky find many years ago. This website lists and pictures many if not all Model 21 specific catalogs.

Bill - Had forgotten about that site. Tried to contact the moderator, and it wouldn't open up

I think contacting that moderator is wishful thinking. Enjoy the site and its many features. It is what it is. Interesting paper finds including the salesman's portfolio and a price list earlier than any previously known. bluepike.tripod.com
