OP Scott Garner Boxlock Joined: Oct 2016 Posts: 2	I recently found (and purchased) a Francotte SxS from a local tactical shop that had it on consignment. It has the Von Lengerke & Detmold in the top of one barrel. SN# 28011 The database would suggest that it is a 1896-97 Medium Grade. It is well used and the wood isn't in the greatest shape. I have not taken possession of the gun yet but found this forum when searching for information. I was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on this! Thanks for your help in advance SG

I had several from 1920 thru 1930 with the VL&D script Please put up a few pics of engraving n proof marks. The link to griffin/howe will get you to Bob Beach...he is doing great work on francotte guns, with old VL&D record books. He would be the man...don't forget ...loads of pretty pic cheers franc

Little Creek Sidelock Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 624 Likes: 3 Alaska	I own an 1891 Francotte boxlock with damascus barrels. It is a low end gun but is put together very well and has nice triggers. I've shot it quite a bit. I like Francottes...good luck with the one you are looking at.
