Here is the Bonehill I got with the 3 gun treasure. It's missing the safety parts, the forend wood and latch and buttplate. I have what's left of the barrels. They have been stubbed off and new tubes welded in. He rumaged around and handed me a metal buttplate that he said went with it but doesn't.



The action has cocking indicators. L of loaded, D for discharged, I'm guessing. The buttstock and forend iron does not have a serial number that I can find.



Odd that it looks like an old gun yet it has a patent date of 1952.

That is the C.G. Bonehill and W.J. Mathews patent No.1952 of 1880. It was issued on May 12th of that year. The "456" indicates the number of times the patent had been used to that point.

I like that Bonehill. I hope you can save it.

Another old Bonehill Matthews patent gun. This one is a bit odd inasmuch as the engraving is of cranes and palm trees. Most certainly not typical English game scene engraving: Lagopus.....
