A kudos and 'well done' to Jim Fender for his excellent article on "The Legacy of Paul Jaeger, Inc" in the latest DGJ. Impressively researched, insightful analysis of the man and his firm, and well written -- and to a length not seen in other publications. I don't know Jim personally, but I learned a lot reading it, and enjoyed reading it, and wanted to pass along a sincere "Congrats."

I read the article today too and really enjoyed it.

I live a few miles from his old shops' location and I'm lucky enough to have found a Masquelier SXS in 16 gauge in mint condition from an estate that he imported. I noticed he is carrying one of them in a picture in the article and the author references it. They were nice guns and the barrel address has Paul Jaeger, Jenkintown, PA on it. That makes it special for me.

I haven't read the DGJ article yet, but have a .257 Roberts custom rifle made by Paul Jaeger for my father way back when. It is a very special gun for me. Can't wait to read the article.

Just read it last night. Agree with Vic. I've owned a couple Jaeger imports (one Masquelier), so it was of particular interest to me.

I spent many an hour in that shop when I was younger and still have the Bernardelli Gamecock 20 gauge my parents bought for me there as a law school graduation present. The shop was simply amazing and I wish I'd known then what I know now about his work. What a craftsman.
