Hope this is going in the right place here.
I am trying to locate a smooth paper patch mould for the .500 BPE casting 440-grain bullets.
This is for the .577/.500 3-1/8" magnum, which typically took 164 grains powder and a 440-grain patched bullet.
Ideas, suggestions, recommendations all welcome, thank you!

Thanks, Tex! Those are good outfits and I will ask them if they have a design on hand. Leo Bumphrey recently made me two moulds for paper patched .450 BPE bullets. If I can't locate what I am looking for at the older establishments, I'll go back to Leo.

I think you won't go wrong with accurate. If I needed help fitting an off size bore and maybe matching a historic nose profile, I'd check out Brooks. If you're comfortable with Bumphrey, I'd think that would be just fine. I think all might be able to help as finding something off the shelf would maybe be a matter of luck. Here's hoping all goes well with it.

Thanks, Craig. A lot of the more established mould companies are backlogged for a long time. Bumphrey got my moulds done in 2-3 weeks, and his prices are $100 plus shipping. Can't beat that. But he is in Saskatchewan, a looong way from my home, so the mail took a lot longer. Nice man, good listener. Did exactly what I asked. But by then I had already sluggged the bores and really studied the gun, shot it a ton with other moulds, so I knew exactly what it needed.
