Very pleased with my Dickinson Plantation grade 410. I wouldn't called the triggers light but certainly acceptable and crisp. Just last week, I handled an Estate model in 28ga with 30" bbls (almost bought it!!!) and the trigger were great.

Mike, get with me at the Southern and you can shoot mine.

With all these differing stories about trigger pulls gong around it seems you either get a very good one or a very bad one.

With all these Bruce's and Dickinson's being yapped about, it gave me a hankering to jam some blue oyster cult this morning, man do I love me some cowbell!!

Hi all, I have 2 Dickinson's a 16ga and 28ga. The 16ga has a ST, I use it for winter hunting with gloves. The trigger pull on this one is heavy, but usable for hunting. The 28ga has DT and the pulls are very nice, pretty light, very crisp and no creep.

What I found interesting in Bruce's article is the constriction of his choke tubes. His were much more open than what the tubes are marked. My 16ga tubes are on the money. My 28ga tubes are more open than marked. The Cyl is Cyl (.000), The IC is Skt (.002), the Mod is Lt Mod (.009), the IM is Mod (.012) and the Full is IM (.018)

According to other Dickinson owners, looks like the tubes do vary and look to be all over the map. I wonder if the bore diameters are consistent or vary that much. I can't see the tubes varying that much, but who knows. BTW the bore diameter on my 28 is .550 right and .551 left. Pretty much dead on.

Not following on the "cowbell" reference tonight. My back is killing me and I'm self-medicating with stiff drink of some Hudson Baby Bourbon (100% corn, first bourbon I've had in a very long time. Great analgesic!). I own and use a Dickinson Estate I purchased from Cabela's last May. It's the .410 action with the 28-gauge 2nd set of tubes. I agree that it is alot of gun for the money but the triggers can be a problem. See below....



PICSO did a good job on the triggers and they have held steady at ~ 3 3/4 and 4 1/4 for some time now (I asked for 3 and 3 1/2). For a 5 1/4 pound gun that is acceptable. Not perfect, but not bad.

Ted refers to this as my "Muslim" gun.....



I've got something like $1,500 in it (I did have some trade bait). Once you get the triggers corrected (if such a correction is needed) they are IMHO, an exceptional value. Seem to work OK on grouse....



The choke tubes are all over the place (measured them at work, the .410 tubes are fixed chokes). I think I settled on IC and IM.
