I notice that Will Primos is now shooting his turkeys on his TV show with a SxS 20 gauge. Can you folks fill me in on that shotgun he uses? What say you? Thanks...

If it is the same gun I am thinking of, it is either a Purdey or a H & H, I cannot remember which. A very good friend of mine, who posts here, saw the gun a couple years ago before it was delivered to Will. As I recall the story he told me, Will sold his company out to a larger corporate enterprise, and ordered a bespoke English gun. The gun was being delivered to Will from England and my friend got to see it and handle it beforehand. I will not divulge who that friend is, unless he sees this and comes on and provides more information. It may not even be the same gun ...... or, it may. But, the new owner was Will Primos, of that I am certain.
If he does post about it you can take anything he says concerning it to the bank.
All my best, SRH

Stan. Year before last, we attended a Purdey event at Providence Hill Farm above Jackson MS and I handled a new cased Purdey 16 ga. hammergun they were to deliver to Will Primos the following day. There was mention of it being one of a matched pair. JR

Someone said he swears by size 7 1/2 shot when targeting pheasants over big going Springers.

I've heard various stories that their waiting list is from 3 to 7 years. Must be nice.

I've heard various stories that their waiting list is from 3 to 7 years. Must be nice. If so, it's absolutely ridiculous. What that says is they don't really care, they just like the perceived rarity and hard-to-get panache factor more than delivering guns to clients. If they have that big a backlog, they need to go hire some more workforce. But they don't. It's Purdey, they move at the same rate they always have, and you can get in line and wait... JR
