I will be taking a two week trip shortly, leaving from NE Florida with destination Central Iowa. Are there any "must see" gunshops, dealers, etc. that I should use as resting stops? Normal route puts me through Atlanta, Chattanooga, Nashville, St. Louis.

I am always in search of my next double.

Thank you,

John

Simpson's Ltd. in Galesburg, IL. Lot's of doubles, check their website, there's too many just to walk in and browse. Plenty of other stuff too.

Ken,
I am seriously thinking your place should be a stop. I will bring a couple barrel sets to leave with you and we could chat vintage doubles. Simpsons is already in consideration. They have three in inventory that are of interest.

PM or email me when you have time,

John

You might look and see if there's anything of interest at Rock Island's Regional Auction running June 22 through 24. There can be some bargains. As well, you're not that far from Brownell's new retail facility..

Depending on your route, Thad Scott Fine Guns in Indianola, MS is worth the time. Be sure to get them to open the BIG gun room
for you.

I thought Thad Scott passed away about 8 years ago or so?

Once you get here Brownell's is right off I-80 at the Grinnell exit. Sometimes there are a few doubles at Scheel's and Fin and Feather in Iowa City.
