I have revived my 30 year old MEC Sizemaster reloader and would like to begin loading shells in 12 and 16 gauge. I have purchased the conversion kit for 16 gauge short shells and would like to load 2 3/4" 12 gauge bismuth and 2 1/2" 16 gauge bismuth shells, both in low pressure. I have once fired Chedite shells for both.
Could you provide some reloading formulas for me with confirmed data such as pressure or let me know where this data can be found?
Thanks.
Tom C

16ga.com can hook you up to a reloaders group/recipe spreadsheets.
Life is too short to have a 'hate on' for so many things or people. Isn't it?

Reloading provides so many opportunities for disaster that using data that has not been verified by some reputable testing facility seems ill advised. I've never found myself in a situation that the data provided by the powder manufacturers did not meet my needs. Their publication exposed them to the horrors of the US legal system and that to me authenticates their data absolutely. Do the other sources include such an assurance? Probably not.
but use whatever you like of course

Many of the reloading recipes on 16g. society are tested by Mr. Armbrust and therefore should be reliable as long as you follow the recipe without substitution.

I suspect that Mr. Armbrust (LLC?) has protected himself with disclaimers? Which I also suspect would not count for much. But even if action were taken, what would be gained? When it comes down to it - you're on your own. Besta luck

When in doubt have your load tested. Several companies will do it for a reasonable fee. Easy to do and is not that expensive. Most people will be happy with two different loads per gauge. You can change shot size to give you more flexibility. So two loads can be three or more loads to use in the field by using larger shot size. A 9, 7 1/2 and 6 shot size spread could take most birds we shoot in upland situation. Find a good hull, wads combo and select your powder primer combination. Something you have enough to last one or more seasons. Once you know what you have confirmed as a safe load it does not change over time.

Mr. Armbrust does not publish data about loads he's tested except to the person who sent the loads to him. No different than powder companies who test, but then they publish the data. Now, someone here may wish to inform others of their results from Mr. Armbrust and in turn it's up to each individual to either use or not use said data.
