I keep lots of both SXS's & O/U's with a both single and double triggers. It's like having 2 mistresses.

They don't complain, so I'm good with it.

I once had a Marlin model 90 with dual triggers that I shot well on ducks and geese (lead shot era). Presently I love my side by sides but for trap shooting I find the weight of my Winchester O/U is more comfortable.

I recognize that gun. I owned it for about three hours one time. That gun is what put me onto Coles double trigger jobs. I like my 686 Black Onyx a lot better with the two triggers...Geo

I had this 12 ga. 686 converted to double-triggers and I ended up going back to the SST. The reach for the front trigger was a little awkward and it's a much more comfortable shooter with the single. I had Cole keep the large trigger-guard and now the gun can be easily shot with thick gloves in the winter. With good ammo it will reach out far with the IC lower barrel, so the double triggers on this gun were pointless.

Thanks guys! I still have a preference for a double trigger cause it's what I'm used to, but I'm no longer afraid of older Italian single select trigger.

Any more hunting is not as much about shooting as it is about a walk in the woods and watching the dogs work.

I had Coles intall DT's in my 20ga 686 about 15 years ago. Only used it a few times since then, always prefer to carry a SxS...

My problem lies in reconciling my gross habits with my net income.

I'd love to have DTs on my 626. I asked Cole's if they could do it and they said they didn't have the parts. Is there anyone who could do this? I suspect the answer is no, but thanks to anyone for any ideas.

Probably the only O/U out there that can often be found with Double Triggers is Merkel. 200E with double triggers is pretty sweet. In a small bore its even sweeter.

Many of the older Beretta sidelock O/U guns can be found with double triggers. I have a 12 gauge Beretta S2 from the early 50's with them.

Those old Italians are the guns I've found that really appeal to me. They feel good for some reason. Have you had any experience with some of these guns? Are they durable?
