I am fond of my Winchester 23. I use it when I travel by air to hunt or when I am shooting in bad weather. That being said, there are a couple of things I would like to modify about the gun.

I use it a lot for shooting stout waterfowl loads. Therefore, I worry about the head of the stock cracking or splitting. To minimize the chance of a cracked stock head, I would like to have it glass bedded. Also, I prefer a double trigger to a single trigger and want to change the trigger set up.

Because of these desires, I am looking for recommendations for someone to glass bed the head of a stock on a Winchester Model 23.

I would also like to know if anyone has any experience with swapping a single trigger set up in an American market Model 23 for a double trigger set up taken from a European market Model 23. I would like to know if this is a simple swap or a more complex matter requiring significant smithing. I would also like any recommendations regarding a gunsmith to make the trigger swap.

Not worth bothering with. There are many BC Miroku Charles Daly/Montgomery Ward Model 500 side by side shotguns out there with double triggers and Model 23 handling. Worth getting the only problems are no ejectors and 70mm chambers on 12ga guns. The cost of such gun is whole lot less than modifications you're talking about.
